PCBL has FOUR manufacturing units located in Durgapur (Eastern India), Cochin (Southern India) and Palej and Mundra (Western India).
PCBL Durgapur Unit, the oldest unit has now a production capacity of 1,57,000 MTPA. There are three production lines running at the plant with a proven capability of producing all ASTM grades of carbon black.
The Plant has gone through successive stages of modernization and expansion. It is an ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certified Unit.
The unit has a Captive Power Plant with 30 MW of power generation capacity.
PCBL Kochi Unit came into being after the amalgamation with Carbon and Chemicals, Kochi in 1996. It has two lines of production with a total capacity of 1,00,000 MTPA.
It is an ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certified Unit. PCBL Kochi unit has become one of the most ‘Green’ and environment friendly factories amongst the carbon black manufacturers in the world.
The unit has a Captive Power Plant with 10 MW of power generation capacity.
PCBL Palej Unit was acquired from M/s Gujarat Carbon & Industries Limited (GCIL), Baroda in November 1996. The merger came into effect from 1st April 1997 with the twin objectives of increasing volumes and proximity to the key customers.
At the time of acquisition, the plant had a capacity of 25000 MTPA. After a capacity expansion in 2004, the plant is currently running three lines of production with a total production capacity of 1,05,000 MTPA.
The Plant also has the capability of producing Carbon black for Specialty applications such as plastics, inks, paints, coatings etc. The power plant at has a running capacity of 12 MW.
It is an ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certified Unit.
PCBL Mundra Unit, the green field project of PCBL commissioned in October 2009, at Gujarat, has a total production capacity of 1,53,000 MTPA. It is an ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certified Unit.
The power plant at Mundra has a capacity of 24 MW.
